So… you may have wondered where I’ve been for the past year or so. It’s been a huge year for me and probably one of the most exciting years I’ve ever had. You could say this was the year I gave my heart to food. I got my first job working in the food industry as a PA to a food personality, had the opportunity to work on 2 food TV shows, started learning about recipe testing and even had the opportunity to prepare food for a book shoot.
Yup – that’s my name on the Great Australian Cookbook!
I had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people in food.

I ate…a lot. (Sorry, waistline).
Sampling In & Out burgers and fries Animal Style in San Francisco.
When life gives you peanut butter waffles on Lamma Island, you eat peanut butter waffles.
Cinnamon roll from Cinnabon in the States. Heart-stoppingly good.
I cooked, and baked and experimented with new ingredients and recipes and learned more about food than I ever thought possible.
Speculaas crust tart with meringue.
Seafood hokkien noodles.
Hainanese chicken rice.
Rice pudding with jam sauce and whipped cream.
Finally I finished off the journey by quitting work full time and returning to study Commercial Cookery full time at TAFE to get my qualifications to be a chef. At this point I have a few ideas of where I want to go after I’ve finished studying, but you really never know where you’ll end up right?
All I know is that I still have a burning desire to share everything I know online about food. Internet, it’s good to be back.
